The Motorola Droid X was one of Verizon's top Android phones last year, but like the HTC Droid Incredible, its star is starting to fade as newer, faster models enter the market. Rather than retiring it completely, Motorola and Verizon decided to build on a winning formula by introducing the Droid X2. Available online now and in stores on May 26 for $199.99 with a two-year contract, the Droid X2 improves on its predecessor with a dual-core processor and a higher-quality display. The companies stopped short of adding 4G support and other hardware improvements like a front-facing camera, which is disappointing, but does that make the Motorola Droid X2 completely undesirable? Read on for our take.If you were to put the Motorola Droid X2 and the Droid X side by side, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference between the two; they have nearly identical designs. The X2 is the same size and weight as the X at 5.02 inches tall by 2.58 inches wide by 0.39 inch thick and 5.47 ounces. It's a good chunk of hardware to hold and carry, and the bump on the top back adds some extra bulk. That said, we don't think the phone is any more cumbersome than the other 4.3-inch touch-screen models out there, such as the HTC ThunderBolt and the Samsung Droid Charge. Plus, we like the sturdy construction and soft-touch finish of the Droid X2.

The Clutch +i475 looks like a very different phone from the Clutch i465. At 4.23 inches long by 2.31 inches wide by 0.64 inch thick, the Clutch i475 is smaller and rounder, with curved corners and sloped sides. The back is clad in a rubbery textured finish that adds to its comfortable feel in the hand. Instead of red and silver edges, the Clutch is all black. The Clutch i475 is not as tough and durable as its predecessor, however; it is not certified against environmental hazards.

Motorola ES400S Sprint Mobile - First Look Review

The ES400S isn't small, but given its rugged design, that's to be expected. It measures 5.1 by 2.4 by 0.7 inches (HWD) and weighs 5.5 ounces with the standard 1540mAh battery. An optional, tremendous 3080mAh extended battery adds an extra ounce and another two tenths of an inch in depth. You'll want this, because the ES400S's paltry talk time of just 3 hours and 25 minutes with the standard battery was a real disappointment. The 3-inch PenTile LCD display is a mixture of old and new technologies. It's plastic and resistive, it offers standard VGA (640-by-480-pixel) resolution, and it's designed to be used with the supplied plastic stylus, all of which makes the screen old tech. But it's also LED-backlit and features haptic feedback, which are two unusual features for a stylus-based display. Regardless, it looks unusually bright and colorful for a plastic screen.

Motorola Verizon Krave ZN4: Motorola's first touchscreen phone made solely for CDMA networks. The handset closely follows the design of the normally China- and GSM-oriented MING but is spun as a media-friendly device with a MediaFLO tuner for live digital TV, media player software, up to 8GB microSDHC storage, and a regular 3.5mm headphone jack. A two-megapixel camera and Bluetooth with stereo sound are also part of the core design. 


In addition to the V CAST TV handled by its tuner, the Krave also touts support for DRM-free Rhapsody music downloads as well as assisted GPS through Verizon's subscription service. Motorola's phone is listed as available today and sells for $150 with a two-year contract or $350 when bought on a month-to-month plan.

Motorola Theory Boost Mobile Review

The Motorola Theory looks and feels more luxurious than its price tag would lead you to believe. You wouldn't be out of line in confusing it for a BlackBerry. It measures 4.4 by 2.4 by .5 inches (HWD) and weighs 3.5 ounces. The back of the phone is made of soft-touch black plastic, while the front is shiny and glossy. The function keys are made of greyish plastic with a wood-grain look and sit directly below the phone's 2.4-inch LCD. The display is surprisingly sharp for 320-by-240 pixels, and again looks to be of a higher quality than you'd expect at this price range. Overall, the Theory is a very handsome device.The real draw here is the QWERTY keyboard, and the Theory doesn't disappoint. The keys are nicely sized, raised, and well-separated. My fingers are less than nimble, yet I found it fast and easy to type long messages on the Theory. The spacebar on the keyboard lacks the same springy feeling as the rest of the keys, so that took some getting used to. But the selection keys are big enough, and I had no trouble navigating my way through the phone's simple UI.

The Motorola XPRT measures 4.7 by 2.4 by 0.5 inches (HWD) and weighs 5.1 ounces, which is a little heavier than the Droid Pro. The XPRT is made of a mixture of glass and matte plastic, with a textured, soft touch back panel that makes the phone very comfortable to hold for long conversations. The 3.1-inch, 320-by-480-pixel touch screen is a little small and not particularly vibrant, but it's a standard resolution compatible with most third-party apps. The QWERTY keyboard is roughly the same size as what you'd find on a BlackBerry, and the keys are sculpted similarly to the BlackBerry Bold series. Typing was a little cramped, but perfectly fine.

Motorola i412 Boost Mobile Images & Detail

A standard flip phone, the i412 is covered almost entirely in shiny blue plastic, save for a matte black band that runs around the perimeter of the phone. It measures 3.8 by 1.9 by .8 inches (HWD) and weighs 3.7 ounces. Though it isn't a rugged phone, the i412 feels solid. The hinge is sturdy and the inside is made of black and gray soft touch plastic that feels nice and grippy. A thin external display shows the battery life, date, ringer status, and time, but it's a bit awkward. The display is vertical, but the text reads horizontally, so you have to hold the phone sideways to read it properly. Inside, the 1.8-inch LCD has a depressingly low 128-by-160 resolution, which looks a bit soft and washed out. The number pad is comfortable, and the navigation and selection keys work fine. I had no problem making my way through the phone's simple UI, though the multiple menu pages are a bummer to flip through.
